Youth unemployment in the UK
Causes of Unemployment
BBC online (2013) stated that ''Unemployment in the UK fell by 4,000 in the three months to June leaving 2.51 million
out of work.'' Youth unemployment are among the age's of 16-24, and all most for two years the amount of people out of work rose from 10,000 to 474,000, and the most people out of work are 16 year old people and they are the highest. the most places in the UK that has the unemployment is the Birmingham and London. BBC online (2013).
Effect
Steven,R (2005) stated that ''Our estimates suggest that a substantial portion of the decline in property crime rates during the 1990s is attributable to the decline in the unemployment rate.'' Unemployment may have an negative effect on crime.
A Possible Solution
A possible solution is the compulsory job guarantee plan; which offers job creation scheme for the under 25.Paid for out of taxes an bank bonus and using same money from the biggest pension funds to help create jobs. The UK minimum wage is 9£ per-hour. The compulsory job guarantee plan is for young people who have been looking for work for 1 or 2 years if they do not have the job, they many lose their job Sidoney allowance benefits. this may help increase the rate of employment in the UK. And may lower the rate of unemployed people in the UK. (Telegraph 2014). And i agree with telegraph because this is helpful for unemployment people.
Evaluation
It may be, that the guarantee plan for getting a job is the best idea, an i would recommend it because of the benefits that you get from it. It may lower the rate of crime if all the unemployment people get a job.
